Meet The Lab Retreat Owner Hillary Penning
Hi, I’m Hils. I’ve spent over 30 years training, leading, and developing people, and I bring passion, precision, care, and excellence to everything I do within the beauty industry.
For the past four years, I’ve specialised in lashes and brows, helping clients feel confident, polished, and effortlessly put together while also training the next generation of professionals to become expert lash and brow technicians.
I’m a fully qualified Level 3 beauty educator and trainer and as a Lashbase UK and Beautiful Brows Affiliate Educator, I teach to recognised industry standards as well as from experience. I know what works in a real salon environment, how to create results clients love, and how to build a career that lasts.
Every treatment I perform, and every student I train, is approached with care, attention, and the kind of detail that only comes from years of hands-on experience.
The Lab Retreat was born from a simple idea: to provide results you can trust and a learning experience that actually prepares you for the real world. Whether you’re having a treatment with me or learning under my guidance, you’re getting more than technique - you’re getting someone who cares about your results, your confidence, and your growth.

A down to earth true Essex girl at heart, I currently live in Suffolk with my husband Adam, my son River, our Labradoodle Guppy and our two cats Noodles and Loki.
