Hi, my name's Hils and I'm the founder of The Lab Retreat. I've been an eyelash and eyebrow artist for over 4 years and a coach in various sectors for over 35 years. I offer treatments and training courses in my private studio, based in the beautiful and picturesque grounds of the amazing destination that is Kersey Mill, which is located in Kersey Suffolk.
What makes me different from other artists? Well, all lashes and brows are tailored to suit your individual face, lifestyle and needs. It's not a one size fits all approach. Everything delivered is bespoke right down to the lash length choice , curl, fullness, style and colour. When it comes to brows the colour formulation, depth and vibrancy of colour and shape for your brows, is devised bespoke to suit you. I would also say that my treatment style is not a "get you in and then get you out" approach. As a trainer I am very passionate about qualify people at the highest standard possible for the industry.
The philosophy at The Lab retreat, is focused around the client experience and on delivering a fantastic treatment with amazing results, from start to finish. I am a fully qualified and insured educator and artist for the lash and brow industry. However, despite my qualifications I still constantly invest and up-skilling in regular masterclasses every year, with some of the best brow and lash artists in the UK, to ensure I stay up to date with the ever growing lash and brow trends.
Masterclass highlights for brows have been attending a Buff Brows masterclass forum back in 2023, with some of the top brow specialists in the UK, training and being the first masterclass student of Abbie May Cox from AMC Brows was an incredible experience and last year doing an intimate masterclass session with Danielle owner and artistic director of The Brow Bond, was just awesome.
For lashes I've been very lucky to have trained and attended numerous masterclasses with various artists and companies, however up-skilling with the team at Pink Fishes in Essex, has always been a career high for me!
All treatments and training classes are offered and delivered by me, in a private studio setting. The studio is open for treatments Thursday through to Saturday during the day and open for training and fully accredited courses on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
